Fornicaftion and greedy

October 29, 2025

David was a man who pleased God, so why wasn't he ultimately chosen? What does it mean to be chosen by God? Was Moses chosen? Moses could have been chosen because Jehovah God allowed him to wait to die on the mountain! Elijah was the only prophet to be taken back to heaven! (Ezekiel 16:26) "You have also committed fornication with the Egyptians, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger." ~~~"Fornication" has always been a sin that humanity cannot overcome! Did David commit adultery? Did Solomon commit adultery? David's relationship with God broke down because of his adultery with Bathsheba! Bathsheba ultimately became the greatest snare of the Israelite family! Some say: Didn't David confess and repent? I think: David never truly realized why he offended God. If David had realized his problem, he wouldn't have tolerated his son's adultery, and he wouldn't have faced the fate of being hunted down by his own son, Absalom!

What other mistakes did David make? Solomon's adultery led to the destruction of the nation of Israel! Behind the stories recorded in the Bible lies a profound "truth"! David did indeed have many wives, but his greatest mistake was killing Uriah for Bathsheba—a sin that caused the shedding of innocent blood! From the moment David shed that innocent blood, the fate of the Israelite family's destruction was sealed! God's judgment is always "fair." Even though Jehovah God loved David, David's sin still resulted in a severe punishment! I often ask myself: Why can't humanity overcome "adultery"? The essence of "adultery" is "greed"! More accurately: David and Solomon couldn't overcome their greedy nature! From Genesis onward, humanity has been bound by "greed"! Eve ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which God forbade her to eat, because of "greed"! Greed is the root of all sin. If we cannot control our greed, we will always pay a heavy price for greedy!.

The essence of greed is our unwillingness to relinquish what we have. We are all modern-day Jacobs! We live in the modern world, and we are constantly acting as modern-day Jacobs! We are like Jacob, grasping at everything, so we cannot escape the snare of greed and adultery. Let's look at David and Solomon, and compare them to Moses and Elijah, and we can clearly understand why Moses and Elijah were more pleasing to the Lord God! David often wrote psalms praising God, but he never overcame adultery and greed! Remember the story the prophet Nathan told David? He said there was a rich man with many sheep, but he still wanted to steal the only sheep from his neighbor's house! David already had many wives, yet he still wanted Uriah's wife—wasn't that greed? Therefore, the essence of adultery is greed! We must understand one thing: God will always reward each person according to their actions! Once greed enters a person's heart, this poisonous root is indeed very difficult to eradicate! We must understand: When the "poisonous root of greed" takes hold in our homes, it will inevitably lead to the destruction of our family! Historically, no family has ever survived because of "greed and debauchery"! Only "family traditions and family character" are the essential factors for a family to inheritance!!
